Lesson 1 - World of Work The world of work will be the first training in the series and will provide an overview of the work world, what to expect, and how to manage work and life together. This first step in the training process typically brings to reality both the challenges and benefits of working.

Lesson 2 - Organization and Planning Prior to taking on a training series, most importantly will be the clients ability to manage themselves, as well as properly plan their lives out in accord with the trainings they will be required to successfully complete. Often time this step is overlooked, and can have unfortunate consequences if a client cannot manage both their time and plan for the future.

Lesson 3 - Stress Management Early in this process, the client will undergo a some degree of stress as they engage new concepts and understand themselves. Often time this life changing experience can result in much stress and can often sabotage efforts down the road. As a result, it will be important to provide the client with as many tools as possible to manage both their emotional lives and their goals effectively.

Lesson 4 - Internet Basics It is almost impossible to navigate the world with out even the most basic skills required to use the internet for resource development. Much of the job search information is now contained on the internet and cannot be accessed unless one has the most basic skills of being able to utilize the world wide web for resources development.

Lesson 5 - Job Skills Assessment At this point, the client has developed and understanding of the world of work, can organize themselves to the point in which they can account for their efforts, and can locate resources through the internet. With these skills in hand, the Job Skills Assessment is the first step toward the client understanding what makes a valuable worker, while at the same time helps them to understand both their skills that are relevant to the types of work they seek, and the skills they possess that can be transferred to other types of occupations.

Lesson 6 - Career Exploration Now that the client understands that they do have skills that have market value, it is time for them to explore the types of careers and jobs they can pursue in the job market. The career exploration series provides the client with an opportunity to match their skills with particular jobs, as well as, to determine which career path would be appropriate for them given their current skill set.

Lesson 7 - Resume & Cover Letter Development Once the client has developed both and understanding of their skills, and what particular career track they should follow, it is time to put together a working resume and cover letter that will be used in their search for employment, as well as in engaging the workforce development system.

Lesson 8 - Dressing for Success Although many clients understand how and what to wear to a job interview, there are great limitations in actually outfitting the client for an actual interview, the dress for success phase will give the client both an understanding of how to dress for an interview, as well as where to locate clothing that is feasible.

Lesson 9 - Interview Techniques Now that the client has been equipped with all of the tools necessary for engaging the job market, they will now need to understand the process by which an interview is conducted, and how to best engage a potential employer during this process. This very important step will prepare the client for one of the most difficult steps in the employment process.

Lesson 10 - Job Search Strategies After providing the client with all of the skills required to engage the job market, the actual process of engagement takes place during the job search. During this time the candidate will be shown how to develop job leads, and follow-up on job openings using both the internet and in attending job fairs, and networking events.

Lesson 11 - Networking This element of the training series is an extension of the job search process, but warrants unique attention, as it is becoming more and more of a factor in finding and securing employment. During this course, clients will be given the opportunity to learn about both internet social networking resources, as well as, engage functions within the greater community where they can meet potential employers and dialogue effectively.

Lesson 12 - Salary Negotiation At this point the client has been provided with all of the tools necessary to conduct a job search, effectively represent themselves in an interview, and work towards finding employment. Having gone through this process, the client will now be in the position where they will need to determine what value they can create when deciding how much money they can and should be making commensurate with their skills.

Lesson 13 - Budgeting and Planning After securing employment, the client will need to know how to manage the money they are making and how to locate resources for income management, retirement, healthcare, etc. This particular element will be important in helping the client stay a float as they transition into employment and explore future career and educational goals.

Lesson 14 - Job Retention Much of what has been learned throughout this course relates to finding and securing employment, but once the client has found employment, most importantly will be how to keep it. Often times a client will experience stressors that they are not accustomed to in the work world, and the job retention element will revisit both stress management and engage the concept of career exploration.

Lesson 15 - Future Planning This final element in the training series is career exploration. This element serves to both reinforce future goals that can often be referred to when the client loses focus, as well as help the client to establish training needs and goals that can carry them from their current income level into a higher level of income through the acquisition of new and more marketable skills.
